Hello World !

 When we were college students and learning programming languages like C,C++ , "Hello World" was one of the first programs you learnt. It went something like Printf("Hello World"). The 90s still seem like yesterday and i am still processing the fact that it's 2024 already ( and from a young college boy who wanted to make video games i am now an artist/illustrator with a 20 year IT experience under my belt!, not to mention the father of  two wonderful kids)

I don't know how blog sites work these days but in them old days usually people used to always name their first post as "Hello World"

So if you a reading this thank you!  and in the post i just wanted to talk about the stuff i intend to blog about.

As the name suggests books will be a central theme. Over the years i have amassed a massive collection of books, some on a mindless buying spree and some with the genuine intention of reading. Considering i am in my mid-forties and in a freelance job i intend to finish each and every book i own. I will be writing about my experiences and struggles in this journey and also small summaries of the books i read.

Movies constitute a big part of my life and i am a but of a movie geek. Lately, apart from watching a lot of Iranian and Malayalam movies  i have fallen in love with arthouse type movies like the stuff Tarkovsky, Aki Kaurismaki and Jim Jarmusch make. So considering the number of flicks i watch i thought why not write a bit about them. Maybe readers could discover about some cinema and fall in love with it.

Because Art has become such a big part of my life  i also wanted to write about some of the illustrations i do and also about artists who i love and learn from. I also intend to explore the concept of creativity and write a bit about what i have learnt and read in this area.

The last part of the blog deals with travel. I have perhaps not travelled as much as i intended to but now want to use the next few years to take my kids around. I intend to write a bit about our travels and experiences.

So yes in essence books, movies, art and travel ( some may call the good part of life).
